This might be a different year for Liberty’s boys’ lacrosse team, as there is a feeling that more wins are in store for the Hurricanes this spring.
Coming off a 4-12 campaign a year ago, Liberty is already 2-1 on the season following convincing wins over Saucon Valley and Holy Redeemer and head coach Joe Magargal thinks this year can be competitive for the group.
“Teams looking good after the preseason,” said Magargal. “Should be a better team this year. Have good numbers and a few new additions.”
Returning players include seniors Dylan Benway, Silas Liscko, Henry Weinert and Trevor Martucci. A large junior class consists of Nate Vella, Landon Lane, Jay Torres, Ryan Cummings, Cole Daignault, Brayden McKinley, Ronnie Heimbach and Jake Yuhasz.
Sophomores Andrew Riggs and TJ Irving round out the projected contributors.
Newcomers Deklon Greer, Logan Vella and Liam Henry look to make a splash.
“Looking to take that next step in the division,” said Magargal of the teams goals, “and make playoffs.”
Jay Torres is back for the Liberty boys.
