Three cheers for holiday fun!
Whitehall Cheerleaders Booster Club organized an Eggstravaganza March 17 at Zephyr Elementary School, 2934 Zephyr Blvd., Whitehall. The cheer-inspired event invited elementary, middle and high school cheerleaders to participate in games, cheer practice, an Easter egg hunt and time with a special visitor.
Middle and high school cheerleaders buddied up with participating younger cheerleaders and taught them common Whitehall cheers while dancing around and having a blast in the early Sunday morning.
After cheer practice, the girls participated in an egg toss game that won them sticker prizes. The excited group then headed outside, where an egg hunt was set up for all of the younger cheerleaders.
The cheerleaders were ecstatic for the hunt, and the younger girls covered the elementary school playground in the matter of minutes. Special golden eggs were also hidden for the girls to hunt down, for a chance to win a chocolate bunny as an extra prize.
After the hunt, the group returned to the gymnasium, where a special surprise visitor was waiting for them - Peter Cottontail, the pet bunny. The girls quietly formed a circle while Peter playfully ran around and greeted each of them.
The event was full of high energy, great leadership and memorable moments. The middle and high school cheerleaders did a fantastic job showing the younger cheerleaders routines while the club organizers created a fun environment for all to participate in.
