BASD Human Resource Committee and Finance Committee had their March meeting as members discussed several topics that would be agenda items at the March 18 regular meeting.

The Finance Committee has begun preparing for the 2024-2025 budget.

Bethlehem Area Vocational Technical School Executive Director Adam Lazarchak presented to the board the proposed 2024-25 BAVTS budget. BASD’s contribution increased 1.5 percent and the net increase to the expenditure budget increased 1.68 percent.

Planning for the 2024-2025 school year the board will begin budget meetings with the first workshop March 25. The board discussed the school calendar, school board meeting calendar, tuition rates for child care, and tax payment for 2024-25. All will be voted on at the March 18 meeting.

The Human Resource Committee continues its review of Board Policies. Board Policy 830 was presented for its first reading. This policy deals with computerized security of personal information and breach notifications.
