Mary Ann Herishko, 80, of Allentown, died March 13, 2024, in Cornerstone Living, New Tripoli.
She was the widow of William M. “Bill” Herishko, who died in 2022.
They were happily married 56 years.
Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late John and Viola (Allender) Griffith.
In the first graduating class of Louis E. Dieruff High School, Allentown, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in education from the then Kutztown State College, now Kutztown University.
Also first chair violin in the Kutztown Orchestra, she loved to listen to her grandchildren perform on violin and piano on holidays.
A special-education teacher before becoming a preschool teacher, she was director of St. Peter’s Nursery School, Allentown, for more than 25 years.
Her survivors include daughters Jennifer A. (James C.) Morykin of Pen Argyl, and Joanne G. Herishko of Harleysville; and grandchildren, James “Ethan” and Stephanie A. Morykin.
She was predeceased by her sister, Nancy Boyer.
