Thomas Michael Schwab

Thomas Michael Schwab, 77, of Macungie, died March 9, 2024, in Lehigh Valley Hospital from complications of Parkinson’s disease. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Carl Maxwell Schwab and the late Laura (Stoudt) Schwab Titman.

He was a 1964 graduate of William Allen High School.

From 1965 to 1967, he served in the U.S. Army stationed at the Korat Air Base, Thailand, with the 519 Transport Company, 313 Platoon. He received the National Defense Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Sharpshooter Award (M-14 Rifle).

He started his career as a carpenter for K & R Company. His career continued at Dorney Park, which was acquired by Cedar Fair. He remained at Cedar Fair (Dorney Park) for 35 years, retiring as the construction manager.

A sports enthusiast, he played in basketball and baseball leagues for Salem UCC and bowled in a league for many years at the Fearless Fire Company.

He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed watching games with his daughters. He was well respected by his colleagues for his hard work and dedication. His daughters said he was the best dad anyone could ever have.

He is survived by daughters, Dr. Lori, of Bonita Springs, Fla., Amy Schwab-Emert and her husband, Matt, of Macungie; former wife and friend, Bonnie Herb, of Bethel; sisters, Donna Schiavone, widow of Frank, of Macungie, Linda and her husband, Dennis Moroz, of Glenn Arbor, Mich., Kathy and her husband, Joseph Marrah, of Summerville, S.C.; stepbrother, Jeff Titman, of Slatington. He was predeceased by his stepfather, Frank Titman; baby daughter, Lynn Michelle.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made by the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown.
