Thomas “Pop” Gitch, of Whitehall, died March 11, 2024, at Fellowship Community, Whitehall. He was the husband of Rana Gitch for more than 63 years.

Born in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Stephen and Rose Gitch.

He retired in 1996 from his 36-year career at Dieruff High School where he was the head of the math department.

He got a hole in one at Allentown Municipal Golf Course.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Stephen and wife Rose; a daughter, Ellen and husband Tony; five grandchildren, Tyler, Kylie Friar with Jake, Jillian, Corri and Cassidy; a brother-in-law, Clarence Rickard Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three sisters, Gloria, Lorraine and Marilyn.
