Harold “Babe” W. Smith, 91, of Allentown, died March 10, 2024, at Whitehall Manor. He was the husband of the late Barbara J. (Litzenberger) Smith and Fern W. (Shoemaker) Smith.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Albert and Maude (Ferrel) Smith.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Before retiring in 1991, he worked at Mack Trucks for 27 years and was a member of the Mack Truck retirees group.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fogelsville.

He was a member of Lehigh Lodge 326, Macungie, and was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. He also belonged to other fraternal organizations.

He is survived by a grandson, Steven W. Jr. of Allentown; three great-grandchildren, Steven III, Christian Olesak and Chase Harold; a great-great-granddaughter, Gladys; a son, David M. and wife Patricia; and a granddaughter, Jessica Landis.

He was predeceased by a son, Steven; and three brothers.
