The “Ready to Learn” grant that benefits prekindergarten and kindergarten students has been increased by $1 million thanks to (state/US) Sen. Lisa Boscola. The “Spark Equity Award” benefits six schools in the district with an in-kind donation to support physical education programs and physical activities.
Assistant Superintendent Dr. Maureen Leeson and her curriculum committee team have reviewed the programming across all the middle schools and is looking to create concise course descriptions as well as continuity throughout the middle schools in the district.
This committee is also aware of the transition for students and parents, from elementary to middle school and are trying to coordinate the four middle schools to a level of continuity and commonality that will ease the next transition to high school.
