Vera Mae Knabb
Vera Mae Knabb, 83, of Coopersburg, died March 8, 2024, in her home.
She was the widow of Daniel M. Knabb III, who died in 1985.
Born in Taunton, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Mertys and Helen (Evans) Erwin.
A 1958 graduate of Taunton High School, she relocated to Emmaus, after marrying her beloved husband.
The couple moved to Coopersburg in 1979 to raise their family.
She went on to work as an office manager for the Southern Lehigh School District Tax Office for more than 30 years until retiring in 2010.
A very talented seamstress, she was a member of the Allentown Couture Society from which she received numerous accolades.
An avid bowler, she spent many Thursday nights at Jordan Lanes bowling with her team, the Que-Ettes, and she also competed in several national bowling tournaments across the United States.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, South Whitehall.
Her survivors include a son Daniel M. Knabb IV, and his wife, Barbara Smith, of Portland, Ore.; daughter Teal Eye Nester and her husband, Joseph, of Coplay; sisters Audrey Libby of Attleboro, Mass., and Shirley Goldstein of Sandwich, Mass.; niece Lori Holden and her husband, John, of Attleboro; and several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her sister Alberta Bulcamino; brother Charles Erwin; and nephew Scott Libby.
Her memorial service will be 11 a.m. on March 16 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, South Whitehall.
Calling hour begins at 10 a.m. Pastor Eric Yeakel will officiate.
