Nancy F. (Shiffer) Erdman, 85, died March 3, 2024, surrounded by her loving family in Luther Crest, South Whitehall.
She and her husband, Edward R. Erdman, were married 63 years.
Born Sept. 21, 1938, in Adamstown, Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Shiffer and Fern (Wolfgang) Shiffer Weber.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education, secondary curriculum from Kutztown University in 1960 with a focus in mathematics.
She first taught advanced mathematics courses at Parkland High School and then was a middle school teacher in the Allentown School District for 25 years before retiring.
An excellent educator, she was awarded the Outstanding Teacher Award by the Allentown Education Association in 1999.
She enjoyed reading, cooking and flower gardening, and especially enjoyed time with her family at the holidays and at their cabin in the mountains of Central Pennsylvania.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Allentown.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons Scott E. Erdman, and his wife, Maria, of Syracuse, N.Y., and Russel E. Erdman of Royersford; and grandchildren Sarabeth, James, Sean and Sandra.
Her service will be private, at the convenience of the family.
There will be no public calling hours.
