EHS to host book drive, Glowco Dance, career visits

To benefit the Valley Health Partners Children’s Clinic at Lehigh Valley Hospital, the Interact Club will collect new and gently used books now through March 18. Donations may be dropped off outside Room 216. With questions, reach out to akaunitz@eastpennsd.org.
To celebrate the birthday of Branch, Emmaus High School’s therapy dog, the Interact Club will sell Scooby snacks and dog stickers during all lunch blocks from March 18-26. Additionally, students may fill out the following Google Form for a chance to attend Branch’s private birthday party April 2: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScx6gGWCy2b8blVwPH_4ofAOda8AMdIHPwZ14 QaXVb93wb5YQ/viewform. One adult and 10 students will be selected to attend – each chosen student may bring one friend. All proceeds will benefit the EHS Therapy Dog Program. The Student Government Association will host a Glowco Dance 6-9 p.m. April 5 at EHS. Tickets will be sold during all lunch blocks from March 18-26. Those who purchase tickets must fill out the registration Google Form, which is linked in students’ “Class of” Schoology page. Visit @sga_ehs for more details.

In honor of spring break, EHS will dismiss 11 a.m. March 27, followed by school closure March 28 to April 1. Students will return to classes April 2.
The EHS Counseling Department will host a series of career speaker visits throughout the month of March, covering various industries and disciplines. Upcoming visits include an environmental scientist, accountant, author, personal trainer, police officer and engineer. To browse offerings and sign up for a presentation, students may visit Naviance. Direct questions to any guidance counselor.
Interact Club presents its Elementary Reading Program, seeking volunteers to read to students from kindergarten to fifth grade at EPSD elementary schools. Time slots are available 2:45-3:15 p.m., running now through May 24. Participating schools include Lincoln Elementary School, Macungie Elementary School, Shoemaker Elementary School, Wescosville Elementary School, and Willow Lane Elementary School.
