Jane Ann (Breidenbach) Fisher, 86, died March 3, 2024, after receiving care at Whitehall and Parkland Manors. Born in Fountain Hill, she was a daughter of the late Ludwig and Naomi (Weil) Breidenbach. She was the wife of Lin Fisher and of the late Ernest Hughes.
She was a Fountain Hill H.S. graduate. She worked in the summers at the silk mills,
After graduation, she was a secretary at Bethlehem Steel. She graduated from nursing school and joined St. Luke’s Hospital for more than 30 years.
She was a ten-year member of and was in the Fire Police with Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Company #1.
She was involved in her early years with the Mothers’ Club at Christ U.C.C., Bethlehem. She was a hospital ministrant for Grace Church, Bethlehem.
She is survived by a son, Gregory Hughes (Ariana Salagianis) of Hanover Township; a daughter, Susan Hughes (George Dudnikov) of San Jose, California; two step-daughters, Jillian Fisher of Chester, Maryland and Bronnie Fisher Fiely (Kevin) of Newtown; three grandchildren, Nicholas Dudnikov, Alex Dudnikov and Sarah Fiely; a brother, Thomas Briedenbach (Jan); and five sisters, Jean Radford (William), Lucille Ratarsk, Mary Ann Stahler, Linda Budzyn (Joseph) and Ann Anthony (Richard).
She was predeceased by three sisters, June Cope, Shirley Strokelitus and Diane Garland; and five brothers, Charles, Paul, Richard, Robert and Donald Breidenbach.
Arrangements were made by Connell Funeral Home Inc., Bethlehem.
