HI NEIGHBORS: The popular speakers program offered by First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem, “Hi Neighbors,” starts its spring series of programs on Monday, March 18. The programs are offered at the church building, 2344 Center St., Bethlehem. The programs are open to all, and there is no fee or preregistration.
Each session begins at 9:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall with a social time. The presentations begin at 10 a.m. The nine scheduled programs run through Monday, May 20.
Dr. Micah Sadigh returns March 18 after making a popular presentation in the fall on the topic of “Sleep.” For this program he will focus on “Dreams.”
ST. JOSEPH’S FEAST DAY MASS: A Feast Day Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church on East Fifth Street, South Bethlehem, Tuesday, March 19, at noon. Fr. Brendon Laroche, pastor of St. Ursula’s Church, will be celebrate the Eucharist. The church was recently purchased from the Allentown Diocese by a group of parishioners forming the nonprofit Society of St. Joseph of Bethlehem vowing to restore the building. GARDEN CLUB MEETING: Bethlehem Garden Club: First monthly meeting of the year on Thursday, March 21 at Advent Moravian Church, 3730 Jacksonville Road, Bethlehem. Doors will open at 11:30am. Soup, bread, and dessert will be offered at noon followed by a program, “Table Settings for all Occasions” and business meeting afterward. All are welcomed.
SERVESAFE COURSE: The ServSafe Food Safety Manager course, conducted by Penn State Extension, will be held at the Penn State Extension Lehigh County office, 4184 Dorney Park Rd., Allentown, PA. The course will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., March 19, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 26. The exam will begin at 1 p.m. on March 26. There is a fee. PEOPLE’S BALL: Join ArtsQuest as we kick off our spring exhibition with the Second Annual People’s Ball on Saturday, May 11 at 7 p.m. in the Crayola Gallery, located on the first floor of the Banana Factory. This fun and festive event is a party that celebrates art, style and our community, while inviting guests to strut their stuff for this fun and festive event.
The exhibition for this year’s People’s Ball is Refash, curated by Bethlehem-based fashion designer, Barbara Kavchok. The exhibition will feature wearable works of art that celebrate sustainability and showcase fashion, accessories and jewelry created from used, thrown-out, found and repurposed elements.
Doors open at 7 p.m. and the runway show begins at 8:45 p.m. This is an 18+ event. Cathy’s Catering will provide appetizers and the bar will be open to provide beer, wine and soda. Tickets available on the ArtsQuest website.

NMIH: Corliss Comes Alive: the 115-ton, 100-year-old Corliss steam engine will run at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Built by the Snow Steam Pump Works, Buffalo, New York; it was used by the York Water Company and pumped eight million gallons of water per day. The Corliss is the most powerful operating water works steam engine in North America. Included in admission to the National Museum of Industrial History museum, 202 E.
