Elaine Houghton Baker, 78, died March 1, 2024, in Lower Macungie Township, after a prolonged battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was the wife of the late Mark Baker.
She received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and physics from Albany State University and briefly taught high school, before marrying and focusing on raising her family.
She was an outstanding wife and mother, with a reputation for empathy and independence.
She was an avid reader with a passion for playing golf, writing poetry and volunteering in her community.
She is survived by a daughter, Kelly Lineberger; sons, Steve and Dan; five grandchildren; sister, Janet McEldowney.
