CMS News: Roughies of the Month are named

Congratulations to the Roughies of the Month for March. The students are Jacob Chunko-Ortiz, fifth grade; Stellar Riccaboni, sixth grade; Maxwell Bergman, seventh grade; Camryn Cox, eighth grade; and Sophia Dutton, related arts.

There will be no school for students March 8. This is a teacher in-service day.

The Strengthening Families program meets 5:30-8 p.m. March 12.

The goal for the third marking period is school attendance. Students with no more than two unexcused absences will have the opportunity to take part in a soccer game with teacher coaches.

Catasauqua Middle School is looking for a health and physical education short-term teacher from approximately March 12 to June 3. The position pays $190 per day.

A PK-12 health and physical education certification is preferred.

CONTRIBUTED PHOTOS Catasauqua Middle School teacher Mrs. Sourwine and her fifth-grade classroom celebrate being named the winners after collecting the most nonperishable food items during the school's Souper Bowl of Caring food drive, which ended Feb. 9. The classroom with the most items donated won a pizza party.
The food collected by CMS students will benefit the Catasauqua Community Cares Program and Catasauqua Area Food Bank.
