LIVABLE LANDSCAPE GRANTS: he Division of Parks and Recreation will begin accepting applications for the 2024 Livable Landscapes Grant Program on Wednesday, February 14, until 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 18, 2024.
The Livable Landscapes Grant Program provides grant opportunities for eligible applicants in land conservation, ecological restoration, education and outreach, park rehabilitation and development, and regional trails in Northampton County. Program priorities are consistent with the goals of the Livable Landscapes – An Open Space Plan for Northampton County.
The Division of Parks and Recreation will host a mandatory grant workshop on Thursday, February 15, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm in the Education Room at Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center, 400 Belfast Rd, Nazareth, PA 18064.

PARK RENTALS: County Executive Lamont G. McClure and the Division of Parks & Recreation are pleased to announce that starting Jan. 2, the Parks Reservation System is doubling the selections of pavilion rentals to the public at Louise W. Moore, Wayne A. Grube, and Wy-Hit-Tuk County Parks.
The changes will allow more residents to enjoy our parks and, for the first time, offer lower rates for half-day rentals. The changes will provide half-day rental options for 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. (sunset). Full-day rentals from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. are still an option.
If you are renting a pavilion at Louise W. Moore Park, please note that pavilion numbers have changed from previous years, and the Parks & Recreation Division suggests that you review the pavilion list before you book.
Rentals on the Parks Reservation System are now open for the 2024 Season, which opens on Saturday, April 13, and closes on Sunday, Oct . 27. The public can find more information about reserving pavilion rentals on the County website: https://norcoparks.recdesk.com/Community/Home.
FUEL ASSISTANCE:The Northampton County Area Agency on Aging will begin its Emergency Fuel Assistance Program on November 1, 2023. This program is for once-a-season fuel assistance of $780.
In order to be eligible, an individual needs to be 60 years of age or older, reside in Northampton County, and have already applied for and received or been denied Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) benefits. Their fuel tank needs to be at 1/4 full or less. For assistance with gas or electric heat, a shut-off notice is required.

When a referral is received, a Northampton County Area Agency on Aging staff member will schedule a home visit to determine eligibility.
