The Baum School’s grownup classmates were honored at the “Adult Student Exhibition” awards presentation Feb. 15 reception.

More than 100 works are on view in the exhibition, through March 7, David E. Rodale and Rodale Family Galleries, The Baum School of Art, Allentown.

Mary Benner received the inaugural Margo Wiener Memorial Scholarship Award for her “Aunt Bunny” (2024; oil, 23 in. x 19 in.), an endearing portrait of Benner’s beloved aunt.

Benner enjoyed a close relationship with her aunt as friend and mentor. A painter herself, Aunt Bunny died in late January 2024. Benner is a portrait painting student of Baum School instructor Monika Stefany.

Baum School of Art Director of Operations and Marketing Laurie Siegfried, awards presenter, said Wiener was a Baum board member and avid art student who died in June 2023.

For Two-Dimensional Artwork, the first place award went to Caryl Waters with Susan Smerker scoring second. Honorable Mentions were given to Cheryl Krumanocher, Nancy Lazar, Pat Panfile, Stephen Pessiki and Rhonda Snowaert.

For Three-Dimensional Artwork, first place went to Kathlyn Caron Dias and Joan Strong garnered second. Honorable Mentions were given to Sophie Adams, Tori DePaulo, Susan Galius, Almut Hupbach and Jenna Zellner.

In the Fashion Awards category, Beverly Galtman took first with Melody D’Amico placing second.

Adult art students placing first and second received cash prizes. Certificates were presented for honorable mentions.

The Wiener scholarship covers full tuition for one Baum School art class.

Emily Strong curated the exhibition. Heather Rodale of Healing Through The Arts judged the artwork for the juried show.
