EHS Theater Department performs Rogers and Hammerstein’s ‘Cinderella’

Now through Feb. 29, the Emmaus High School Unified Track Team will sell chocolate bars in Room 146, Room 249 or outside cafeterias 1 and 2 during lunch blocks. All proceeds will benefit the team’s spring season. With questions, contact lgitski@eastpennsd.org or mbruder@eastpennsd.org.
Alburtis Tavern will host a Dine & Donate event March 5, with 10% of all sales donated to the EHS Theater Department. Interact Club will hold its next meeting after school March 5 in the EHS cafeteria aiding Kalmbach Park in its Easter festivities. With questions, contact akaunitz@eastpennsd.org.
Emmaus Rotary Club will host its annual 4-Way Speech Contest 10 a.m. March 16 at Willow Lane Elementary School. With a focus on public speaking, the competition invites all EHS students to present a short, persuasive presentation on a topic of choice. All participants will receive monetary prizes, with the first-place winner advancing to the regional contest. Interested students may contact anmoyer@eastpennsd.org for details.
EHS’ local scholarship program is now open to all seniors, offering over 30 scholarship opportunities in the areas of service, health care, art and more. For its spring musical, the EHS Theater Department will perform a Broadway version of “Cinderella.” Adapted by Rogers and Hammerstein, the play will blend original plot elements with modern music selections, such as “Ten Minutes Ago” and “In My Own Little Corner.” The first performance, offered to senior Gold Card holders only, will occur 6 p.m. March 19. Performances open to the public will occur 7 p.m. March 20-23 and 2 p.m. March 23-24. All performances will be held in the EHS Auditorium. The East Penn School District Education Foundation will partner with the EHS counseling department to host a career exploration fair 6-8 p.m. March 26 in the EHS Main Gymnasium. Open to all Lehigh Valley families, the event will offer advice from industry professionals in a variety of fields. The EHS School Store will remain open every day during Hornet Homeroom. To visit, all students must present a signed pass from their homeroom teacher.
