Catasauqua Middle School is preparing for Read Across America Week, scheduled for March 4-7. Each day will feature different dress-up themes to celebrate Dr. Seuss and encourage reading.

• March 4: Team up for reading. Wear sports jerseys, sweatshirts or T-shirts.

• March 5: We are wild about reading. Wear animal print.

• March 6: Read a shirt. Wear a shirt with words.

• March 7: Reading jogs the mind. Wear sweatpants or lounge wear.

Congratulations to Mrs. Sourwine’s fifth-grade homeroom for collecting the most nonperishable food items during the Souper Bowl of Caring food drive, which ended Feb. 9.

The food was donated to the Catasauqua Community Cares Program for Catasauqua Area School District students and Catasauqua Area Food Bank to benefit the community.

The winning class won a pizza party.
