Two appointments made via resolutions

At its efficient, relatively brief meeting of the Hanover Township - Lehigh County Council Feb. 7, Council made two appointments via resolutions.

Resolution No. 2024-33 council approved the appointment of Kevin Fogerty as a Conflict Attorney to the Hanover Township - Lehigh County Planning Commission. A conflict attorney is appointed to assist if a planning issue or request arises within the domain of a planning commission that presents a conflict with the township solicitor.

A planning commission in a municipality such as Hanleco primary role, as its name implies, is to plan. A planning commission is a body of unpaid citizens that serve within local government, acting as an advisory groups to, in this case, the township council on issues and policies related to planning, land use regulation, and community development.

Resolution No. 2024-34 council approved the appointment of Sharon Steitz to the Recreation Committee.

Recreation Committee’s responsibility in most municipalities has grown because of the building of new parks, refurbishing older parks and the public’s increased interest on parks and trails. The township is planning to improve its park system that includes pavilion rentals.

Council authorized the final security release (Application #2) for the Site Improvement Bond Reduction, B. Braun Medical Inc., Allentown 18109, 939 Marcon Boulevard from $133,062.30 to 0. B. Braun, Inc. is a leader in smart infusion therapy and safe and effective pharmacy products, patient and provider safety, and sustainable health solutions.

B. Braun employs over 2,000 workers in Hanover Township - Lehigh County, and over 65,000 employees in its B. Braun Group worldwide operations.

Council approved the Jan. 8 council reorganization special meeting minutes, and approved its monthly meeting Jan. 8 that directly followed the reorganization meeting.
