Liberty’s final swim meet of the regular season ended with a 104-79 victory for the Hurricane girls and a 108-78 loss for the Hurricane boys when they hosted Northampton on Feb. 14.
First place finishers for the Hurricane girls were the 200 medley relay team of Lilah McClarin, Leah Onia, Chelsea Hearn, and Amelia Paxton with a time of 2:01.20, Onia in the 200 freestyle in 2:13.94, Audrey Bloss-Ferry in the 200 IM in 2:28.10 with Katie Bruno right behind in 2:28.25, and Paxton in the 50 free in 27.02.
Gabby Madeira won the diving event with a score of 191.10.
Bruno took first place in the 100 butterfly in 1:03.14, and Bloss-Ferry was first in the 100 free in 57.25.
Bloss-Ferry led off the winning 200 free relay team that included Hearn, Sophia O’Hara, and Onia with a time of 1:49.27.
McClarin was the 100 backstroke winner in 1:05.46, and Elle Surowiecki won the 100 breaststroke in 1:22.31.
First place finishers for the Hurricane boys were the 200 medley relay team of David Gabrielle, Wade Wu, Malcolm Collins, and Ben Raineri in 1:42.71, Collins in the 200 IM in 1:55.51, Wu in the 100 fly in 54.57 with Gabrielle right behind in 55.19, and Collins in the 100 free in 47.23.
Collins, Gabrielle, Wu, and Christian Hackett were the 200 free relay winners in 1:32.30.
Gabrielle just missed first place in the 100 backstroke with a time of 58.19 to Northampton’s Ryan Franke whose time was 58.09.
Wu won the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.76.
This week, the Hurricanes, along with the Freedom Patriots, are gearing up for the District XI Swimming Championships, scheduled for March 1 and 2.
