Sonia A. Csencsits, 81, of Northampton, died Feb. 9, 2024, at her home. She was the wife of Joseph F. Csencsits for 60 years.

Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Dimitri and Anna (Stashitsky) Zacharchuk.

She was a Morning Call reporter for 30 years until she retired in 2002.

She was an officer of Northampton Historical Society.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Christopher of Walnutport; a daughter, Heidi and husband Darren Olsen of Northampton; three brothers, Wallace Zacharchuk, Roman Zacharchuk and wife Margie and Andrew Zacharchuk; two sisters, Deena Baker and Cynthia and her husband Bruce Schmauch; nieces; and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Theodore Zacharchuk; and two sisters, Olga Capovic and Alice Bove.

There will be a celebration of life held at a later date.
