Did you know Salisbury Middle School and Salisbury Elementary School will soon have after-school math tutoring Tuesday and Thursdays?
For SMS, tutoring will run 2:45-4 p.m. Feb. 27 through May 30. At SES, tutoring will run 3:45-4:45 p.m. March 12 through May 30. Registration is required through the school website.
The SMS seventh and eighth grade semiformal will be held 7-9 p.m. Feb. 23 in the middle school gym.
Feb. 26 through March 1 is Read Across America Week at SES. Every day has a different theme and students are encouraged to dress according to that theme. Monday: Bring in your favorite stuffed animal and book; Tuesday: Wear your favorite hat; Wednesday: Dress like your future job; Thursday: Twins day (find a friend and dress alike) and Friday: Dress like a tourist or wear something from a place you’ve been.
I can’t wait to see all the neat ideas!
On Feb. 28, SMS students are celebrating “Anything but a Backpack Day” and students are asked to bring anything but a backpack to carry their books in for the day. Let’s be creative!
Can you believe it is nearing the end of the second trimester at SES already? And that means parent/teacher conferences and early dismissals.

Looking ahead: The SES PTO is holding its 10th annual purse bingo noon to 4 p.m. March 10 at SMS. Tickets can be preordered on the PTO tool kit and will be available at the door on a first come, first served basis. Doors open 11:45 a.m. with bingo starting 1 p.m.
Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church’s Ladies Aid Society is having an indoor yard sale 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 2. There will also be baked goods and ham and cheese sandwiches for sale while you shop.
