Rick “Gooche” D. Coombe, 64, of Fullerton, died Feb. 15, 2024. He was the husband of Pauline (Spirko) Coombe for 23 years.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Jean L. (Roth) and Robert G. Coombe.
He was a 1977 graduate of Whitehall High School, where he was in many sports.
He worked at Hilbert’s Pharmacy and was a groundskeeper at Saucon Valley Country Club. He was a fork lift driver at DHL.
He tossed a no-hitter in the Lehigh Valley Legion League in June 1977. He was a scratch golfer and won the Whitehall Open in 1985. He scored a hole-in-one at Woodland Hill Country Club July 7, 1994.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sisters, Linda Gallagher with husband Joe, Cindy Joseph and Eileen; cousins; nieces; and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Bruce A.
There will be a memorial service 11 a.m. Feb. 24 in Fullerton Fire Company No. 1’s upstairs social hall, 851 Second St., Whitehall, 18052, followed by a celebration of life and a luncheon until 2 p.m.
