George “Sonny” A. Reppert Jr., 84, of Northampton, died Feb. 11, 2024, at Bethlehem North Nursing and Rehab Center. He was the husband of Ruth Ann (Bacon) Hawk for 25 years.
Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late George A. Sr. and Beatrice I. (Fogelman) Reppert.
He was a Lincoln Technical Institute graduate with a focus on transmission repairs.
He worked for his father at the family business, George A. Reppert and Sons, Northampton, which he owned and operated since his father’s death. With 82 years of continued family ownership, it is one of the oldest family businesses in Northampton.
He was a member, past master and an instructor of F&AM Porter Lodge 284 and was a past high priest of Chapter 287, both of North Catasauqua. He was a member of Mary Conclave Red Cross of Constantine. He was a 32 degree Mason with Lehigh Consistory Valley of Allentown.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Kevin A. of Northampton; two daughters, Andrea D. of Whitehall and Sharon Smith of South Pasadena, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Melody Ruhf of Arizona; a stepson, Mark Hawk and wife Christine of Lansford; five stepgrandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Richard E.; a sister, Chris Storch; a stepdaughter, Michelle Younger; and a stepgranddaughter, Dominique Shutt.
