The Emmaus rifle team won this year’s Northeast Pennsylvania Rifle League title after beating Stroudsburg in the semifinals and taking down Southern Lehigh in the league championship.
The Hornets beat the Mountaineers on Thursday, Feb. 1 in a semifinal match at Unami Fish and Game, 1050-1040.7.
Jared Zetterberg led the Hornets with a score of 211, while teammates Sanaiya O’Neal (210.5), Zachary Brenner (209.9), Madison Carreiro (209.7) and Bryce Dunn (208.9) rounded out the team’s top five shooters in the semifinals.
In the title match against Southern Lehigh, Emmaus won 1054.9-1043.7 as Brenner recorded a 212.4 to lead the team, while O’Neal (211.9), Carreiro (211.6), Rowan Kratz (209.8) and Quinn Peck (209.2) contributed to the win.
Emmaus moves on to state competition Thursday at Hellertown Sportsman’s Association.
