Frick named boys soccer head coach

The Salisbury boys soccer program will be under a new head coach next season, but not on unfamiliar with the team.

Longtime assistant coach Barry Frick has been named Salisbury High School’s new varsity boys soccer coach.

Frick, who replaces Mark Allinson after his retirement last month, has 30 years of coaching experience with the school district’s high school boys, girls and middle school programs.

“Being a part of the program for 30 years, I want to keep the tradition moving forward,” said Frick, an SHS social studies teacher and Key Club advisor, in a new release sent out by the Salisbury High School Athletic Department. “The organization is good and we just need to recharge and get ready for the next season. We have good student-athletes and I want to help them reach their potential, academically and athletically. The program has always strove to make sure our students have the best opportunities possible and that is what I want to continue at SHS.”

Frick has been involved with soccer for most of his life. He played the sport at Emmaus High School and continued in college at DeSales University. Frick started his coaching career at the youth level and moved on to middle school and high school. He was

Allinson’s varsity assistant coach the last seven years.

“We are really excited that Barry Frick is our new head boys soccer coach,” said Salisbury Director of Student Activities Monica Deeb in the news release. “He knows the game, loves the game and is a great role model for our students. The program is in excellent hands.”
