North Catasauqua: Borough council meets Feb. 19
The next North Catasauqua Borough Council meeting will take place 7 p.m. Feb. 19 in the basement-level meeting room at borough hall.

St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 1229 Third St., is holding a Lenten fish dinner 4-6:30 p.m. Feb. 23. The dinner includes a choice of parsley potatoes or halushki, vegetable, coleslaw, applesauce, roll, butter and dessert.
There is a cost for adults and children over the age of 5.
Tickets are currently being sold before and after Masses. Tickets may be purchased at the door for a slightly higher price.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., is holding a Hungarian goulash dinner Feb. 24, with seatings set for 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The dinner includes Hungarian goulash, pasta or rice, salad, roll and butter and a dessert bar.
You must reserve a seating time by Feb. 18. The cost is by donation.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 122 Union St., Catasauqua, is holding a winter cash bingo Feb. 25. The kitchen and doors open 11:30 a.m., and bingo begins 1 p.m.
Bingo includes 15 games, six specials and a jackpot round for a cost. Additional game sheets and specials will be available for purchase. Bring your daubers but no hard boards.
The kitchen will be selling snacks, your bingo favorites and soda/water/iced tea. Other than BYOB, no outside food or beverages are permitted.

The 2024 garbage assessment and trash invoices have been sent out. There is a discount if paid by Feb. 28.

Catasauqua Garden Club will have a charter bus trip to the Philadelphia Flower Show, set for March 7.
The bus will leave Catasauqua 10 a.m. and depart the show in Philadelphia 5:30 p.m.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church is holding a Lenten dinner, set for 4:30-6:30 p.m. March 8 at the parish center. The dinner platter includes baked cod in a lightly seasoned butter sauce, seasoned roasted potatoes or cabbage and noodles, green beans or side salad, roll and butter and a beverage of bottled water, Coke, Diet Coke, iced tea or Sprite. Kids’ meals include a choice of fish or pasta with marinara sauce. Desserts are sold separately.
There is a cost for dine-in or takeout meals. The deadline for discounted preordered tickets is March 3.

Pennsylvania students in first through sixth grades are invited to enter the 2024 Lyme Art Contest by creating a short video or poster focusing on the theme - “Protect. Check. Remove.”
The deadline for entries is 5 p.m. March 15.

Catasauqua Area Food Bank, 527 Front St., is currently in need of canned soup, cake mix, Jell-O, jelly, canned fruit, crackers and individual or family-size snacks such as granola bars, cookies, fruit bars and cracker snacks.
The food bank is open 3-4 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays. Donations may be dropped off during regular hours.

North Catasauqua Police Association is currently selling T-shirts with its logo on it. The T-shirts come in various colors and can be purchased at North Catasauqua Borough Hall, 1066 Fourth St.

Visit Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., for an array of winter clothing and accessories.
Thrift shop staff are happy to accept donations of good, used, clean clothing, household items and toys during regular store hours. Proceeds from the shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.
The thrift shop’s hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The borough office is making residents aware of the Best Buy electronics recycling program currently being offered.
Best Buy stores in Pennsylvania are currently accepting televisions for recycling. Fees apply. Customers will receive a $30 Best Buy gift card for reimbursement of the store drop-off fee.
