Anna Marie Blatt
Anna Marie Blatt, 93, of Bernville, died Feb. 8, 2024, in her home.
She was the widow of Walter J. Blatt, who died in 1996.
Born in Quaker City she was a daughter of the late Floyd W. and Dorothy C. (Klingaman) Bond.
A 1943 graduate of Mountain School, Kempton, she was a member of St. Thomas Church, Bernville.
She was also a member of the Bernville Senior Citizens (Young at Heart) group, a member and former secretary of the Blue Mountain Senior Citizens, Shartlesville, and a member of Pennsylfawnish Deitch Dialect and Kultur Society, Berks County.
She played the piano and accordion in three different bands from the 1940s to 2009.
She loved playing music for parties, picnics and especially entertaining various senior citizen groups in the Berks County area.
Her survivors include sons Larry J. (Gwen M.) Blatt of Bernville and Randy L. (Cindy) Blatt of Rehrersburg; daughter-in-law Carol Blatt of Fredricksburg; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, and eight step-great-grandchildren; and longtime friend, John Schlappich.
She was predeceased by her son, Richard W. Blatt; granddaughter Tina Kochman; great-grandson, Quinn Blatt; and sisters, Mildred F. Nester and Catherine L. Kistler.
Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Feb. 15 in St. Thomas Church, 536 N. Main St., Bernville, PA 19506.
Calling hour begins at 10 a.m.
Pastor Randy Bond will officiate. Interment in adjoining cemetery.
