Northampton’s Jackson Vajda and Jim Thorpe’s Sarah Hartman were recently named soccer scholar athlete winners.
Vajda is the son of Jason and Tammy Vajda and was a midfielder for the Kids.
He was named a 2023 USC All-American, Regional All-America team 2023, all-state 2023, EPC MVP 2023, first team EPC 2023, Regional All-American 2022, all-state 2022, first team EPC 2022, second team EPC 2021.
In his youth, he was a two-time national qualifier, was a second team All-ECNLUSYS Regional Champion, a member of the ODP regional team and the US Development Academy.
His extracurricular activities included: PE club, TOPSoccer volunteer, Bastidas Soccer Academy Coach/volunteer, Versillo Technical Training volunteer, BEA youth mentor, Miracle League “Buddy” and Special His Olympics Academic. Achievements are honors biology, chemistry, US history 2 & 3, geometry, pre-calculus and civics government with dual enrollment at NCC.
His AP class is statistics algebra 3 advanced, and he plans to major in economics at Lafayette College.
Northampton’s Arianna Heywood was among the girls nominated. She was a midfielder and defender for the Kids in her career.
She plans to major in occupational therapy in college, is a member of the National Honor Society and a distinguished honor roll member.
The Olympian’s Hartman was a forward, midfielder and defender in her career.
She plans to study biology.
