Rita A. Stephens, 77, of South Whitehall, died Feb. 2, 2024, in Lehigh Valley Hospital.

She and her late husband, Robert D. Stephens, shared 57 years of marriage.

After his death, she later grew to really love her companion, Barry Moyer.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Ida (Schlimowitz) Elite.

Before retiring, she was a teller at the former BB&T Bank, Allentown.

A graduate of Parkland High School, she had a great love for animals, especially her late dog and best friend, Lucy, and enjoyed going to the casino.

Her survivors include a daughter Janice I. Stephens and her husband, Evan Bash; and grandchildren Brianna and her partner, Amanda, Nick and Samantha.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 W. Highland St., Allentown.

There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA, c/o Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 W. Highland St., Allentown, PA 18102.

Her daughter, Janice, has requested that no one wear black, as her mother loved color.
