Carl Henry Schultheis

Carl Henry Schultheis, 69, of Orefield, died on Feb. 4, 2024, in the home of his brother-in-law, Tony Stellar, in Heidelberg Township.

He and his wife, Patricia Ann (Stellar) Schultheis, were married 31 years.

Born March 1, 1954, in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Charles and Vonda (Hamilton) Schultheis.

He was a team leader at Lehigh Heavy Forge, Bethlehem.

Before that, he worked at the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. for many years.

An avid scuba diver, he was a member of the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, past president of the Allentown “Y” Scuba Divers and a PADI Certified instructor since 1981.

He also was a member of the Allentown Hiking Club, hiking the Appalachian Trail from Virginia to Connecticut.

He proudly traveled across the country riding more than 600 different roller coasters and was an active member of the American Coaster Enthusiasts.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kari Ann Schultheis of Bedminster, N.J.; siblings Fred Schultheis (Cathleen), Nancy Krause (Daniel), Peggy Williamson, and Marie Schultheis (Ronald Zelezen), all of Bethlehem; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He predeceased by a brother, Alan Kulp.

Family and friends may pay their respects 2-3 p.m. Feb. 9 in Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville.
