Whitehall Township Public Library: ‘Harry Potter’ snitch craft kits available Feb. 12-17

Register for a fandom valentine take-home kit. Create your own “Harry Potter” snitch valentine.

Kits for all ages may be picked up Feb. 12-17 at Whitehall Township Public Library.

Kids in grades 3-6 can explore STEAM projects with the monthly Creation Station. The next event is 6-7 p.m. Feb. 21. Participants will learn about the Lunar New Year. Discover traditions and enjoy a fun activity related to this holiday.

Registration is required.

Family storytime is set for 11 a.m. Thursdays until Feb. 29. This is a drop-in program, so no registration is required.

Read Across America storytime is scheduled for 11 a.m. March 2. Celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday with stories and a craft.

Registration is required for the program, which is for toddlers to kindergartners.

Learn about the upcoming solar eclipse at the Eclipse Explorers program, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. March 2. Dr. Gallis will teach us about the eclipse, and participants will get to make solar boxes for safe viewing. Please bring a cardboard shoe box.

This program is for grades 4-7, and registration is required.

The library is holding its winter reading program for adults. Participants may register and pick up a winter reading bookmark.

Complete the bookmark by March 16 to receive a small prize.

This February, visit the Reading Public Museum! Special exhibits include “Danny Lyon: Memories of the Southern Civil Rights Movement,” “Nature All Around Us,” “Natural Histories: 400 Years of Scientific Illustration” and “Ayana Ross: From Whence You Came.”

Museum passes are free to check out at the library with your LCLC library card. The pass allows for up to two adults and four children. The pass must be checked out and returned to the circulation desk. Late fees apply.

The library has a number of clubs that meet monthly.

The book club for adults meets 1 p.m. the first Thursday of every month. Come discuss what you’re currently reading.

The coloring club for adults meets 11 a.m. the first and third Thursdays.

The Good Yarn group meets for knitting, crocheting and other needle crafts 2 p.m. the first Thursday and 6 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month.

Teens interested in volunteering can join the Teen Advisory Board. Meetings are 1:30 p.m. one Saturday a month. Check our calendar for dates.

The library is open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
