Kindergarten registration is open for the 2024-25 school year. Eligible students must live within the boundaries of Catasauqua Area School District and must turn 5 years old before Sept. 1.

To register, visit Sheckler Elementary’s Facebook page for the link to complete initial forms. You will then receive an email notification about scheduling the in-person registration appointment at Sheckler on either March 8 or May 16.

Sheckler’s literacy night is set for 6-8 p.m. March 7. The Scholastic book fair will be running, along with chances to play bingo, winning basket prizes and sweet treats from the fourth-grade Baking Club!

Fourth-grade students have begun work on their science fair projects. All projects are due March 13.

Catasauqua Youth Athletic Association will be hosting baseball and softball sign-ups 8-10 a.m. Feb. 10 and 17 at the CYAA field house, 890 Walnut St. Pre-K through eighth-grade boys and girls are welcome.

Also, CYAA is hosting an adults-only bingo and basket raffle, set for March 2 at Catasauqua American Legion Post 215, 330 Second St. Doors open 11:30 a.m., and bingo begins 1 p.m.

There will be 20 games with cash prizes, special bingo games, a 50/50 raffle, a basket raffle, door prizes, concessions and a cash bar.
