Whitehall Township Board of Commissioners met Feb. 5 to discuss multiple motions that will be voted on at the next meeting.
One of those motions would establish Mickley-Prydun Farm as a historical site. Solicitor Jack Gross said the designation would not put any restrictions on future use or renovations, nor would it give any other board oversight on the building.
The motion, if passed, will simply recognize the historic value of the property, Gross said.
The board of commissioners will also vote on an ordinance revising the sewage facilities plan for a proposed Outback Steakhouse. The property will tap into existing equivalent dwelling units (EDUs). According to the written ordinance, the 4,758-square-foot restaurant is planned for 1300 Grape St., on Lehigh Valley Mall property.
In other business, Commissioner Ken Snyder reported to the board a few things he has been working on with regard to the fire department and township parks and recreation.
Snyder said he hopes to improve and update the stipend program for the township’s volunteer firefighters. Currently, the fire department determines the stipend based on the number of trainings and calls attended.
The next board of commissioners meeting is set for 7 p.m. Feb. 12 in the township municipal building, 3219 MacArthur Road.
