Alan R. Gaugler

Alan R. Gaugler, 67, of Northampton, died Jan. 31, 2024, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. He was the husband of Lorie E. (Mann) Gaugler for 37 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Robert F. and Mamie L. (Kleppinger) Gaugler.

He was a 1974 graduate of Whitehall High School.

He worked in shipping logistics for Piramal Critical Care, Bethlehem, for 13 years until he retired in 2016.

He was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Kreidersville, where he was Keeper of the Eternal Candle and a youth choir assistant.

He was with Boy Scout Troop 53 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Coplay, where he earned an Eagle Scout Award in 1974. He was a life member of Allen Township Volunteer Fire Company. He was a member of Lionel Collectors Club of America.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jennifer L. of Northampton and Adrienne R. and companion Anthony of Gloucester City, N.J.; a sister, Anita R. and husband John King of King George, Va.; a family friend, Sarah M. Borger and companion Eric of Northampton; and best friend, Bert Keichel of Northampton.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert L. and Jeffrey R.

There will be a calling time 9:30-10:30 a.m., followed by a 10:30 a.m. service, Feb. 8 at the church, 1335 Old Carriage Road, Northampton, 18067.

Contributions may be made to the trustees of the University of Pennsylvania with Penn FTD Center on memo line to combat frontotemporal dementia, c/o the funeral home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, 18067.
