Timothy R. Bortz, 80, of Alburtis, died Jan. 26, 2024, at The Lutheran Home at Topton. He was the loving husband of Mary Ann (Moyer) Bortz. He was the son of the late Ralph H. Bortz and Mildred E. (Lauer) Bortz.
He was a graduate of Emmaus High School and Bethlehem Business School. He worked as an accountant for many years, most recently with Trans Bridge Bus Lines before his retirement.
He served in the Pennsylvania National Guard for six years and was active in the Alburtis Lions Club.
He was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Alburtis, where he served as treasurer and served on the stewardship committee.
He was an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Beth A. Schoch and husband, Dale, of Alburtis; late son’s fiancee, Karen Fryzol; grandchildren, Loren J. Schoch, Allison M., Kyle J.; great-grandchildren, Makynzie A. Lowry and Paisley L.; sister, Joanne Geiser and her husband, William, of New York. He was predeceased by a son, John T.; a brother, James A.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Feb. 1 at Church of the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis. Friends and family are invited to call 10 to 11 a.m. before the service at the church. Arrangements were by the Schmoyer Funeral Home, Breinigsville.
