Jack L. Ivey, 75, of Bethlehem, died Jan. 22, 2024. He was the husband of Carol (Malecek) Ivey.
Born in La Porte, Ind., he was a son of the late Harland and Doris L. (Hewitt) Ivey.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in classical studies and Latin from Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind. Other degrees included a Master of Divinity from Eden Seminary, St Louis., Mo., and a Master in Fine Arts from DeSales University.
He was a Latin teacher in La Porte, Ind., for two years; a project manager for Amana Refrigeration for 17 years; a pastor for First Congregational United Church of Christ in Charles City, Iowa, for seven years; and retired after six years from Zeigel’s Union Church in Breinigsville.
He was a member of Longswamp UCC.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Nicki and husband Matt; two grandchildren, Donovan and Devyn; a brother, Tom and wife Donna; a sister-in-law, Nancy Malecek; and three nephews, Brian Ivey and Jacob and John Neubert.
