CMS News: Early dismissal is planned

There will be an early dismissal Feb. 7. Catasauqua Middle School students will be dismissed 12:20 p.m.

Reminder: CMS Principal Dr. Pammer will be taking maternity leave around the start of February. Bob Steckel will step in as interim principal at this time.

Steckel currently serves on the CMS team as an instructional aide. Previously, he worked as an administrator and educator for 35 years.

The next CMS dance, hosted by the parent teacher forum, will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. Feb. 9.

Student IDs are required for admittance, and the CMS dress code will be enforced.

The Souper Bowl of Caring food drive ends Feb. 9. Items collected will benefit Catasauqua Community Cares Program and Catasauqua Community Food Bank.

Catasauqua Area School District is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of varsity football head coach. The ideal candidate will possess prior experience coaching varsity football as a head coach or an assistant.

CASD Board of Education will meet 7 p.m. Feb. 13 in the board room at 201 N. 14th St.

CASD will be closed Feb. 16-19 for the Presidents Day holiday. Enjoy the long weekend!

The goal for the third marking period is school attendance. Students with no more than unexcused absences will have the opportunity to take part in a soccer game with teacher coaches.

Winter is here, and that means the risk for inclement weather. Any changes to the school schedule will be sent through Remind, Power Announcement and posted on social media.
