Boscola announces water, arts grants
State Sen. Lisa Boscola has announced a total of $6,392,972 in state grants for local water and sewer infrastructure improvement projects in Northampton County.
The ARPA H2O PA grants include:
• Bethlehem Township ($700,000): Walnut Street Drainage Improvements
• City of Bethlehem ($750,000): 2 Million Gallon Southwest Reservoir Replacement
• Palmer Township ($250,000): Norma Street Sewer Extension
• Lower Saucon Authority ($300,000): Pump Station Replacement
• Bangor Borough Authority ($600,000): Sanitary Sewer Improvements
• Easton Area Joint Sewer Authority ($1,000,000): Second Street Pumping Station Force Main Upgrade Project
The ARPA Small Water and Sewer grants include:
• Wilson Borough ($58,851): Sewer Improvement Project
• Bethlehem City ($393,750): Applebutter Road Sanitary Sewer Lift Station Upgrades
• City of Easton ($145,000): Bushkill Drive Pump House
• Portland Borough ($424,708): Portland Borough Storm Sewer Improvements
• Portland Borough ($425,000): Portland Sewer Treatment Plant Improvements
• Upper Nazareth Township ($300,000): Stormwater Project
• East Bangor Municipal Authority ($367,633): Water Storage Tank Construction
• East Bangor Municipal Authority: ($150,000): Water Meter Upgrades
• Roseto Borough Sewer Authority ($150,000): Borough of Roseto Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project
• Borough of West Easton ($150,000): Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation – CIPP Lining
• Hellertown Borough Authority ($78,030): Cherry Lane Pump Station Emergency Generator
• Bangor Borough Authority ($150,000): Sanitary Sewer Improvements
Boscola has also announced a total of $475,638 in state grants for local arts, cultural and historical organizations through the ARPA Pennsylvania Arts & Cultural Recovery Program.

The grants were approved by the state Commonwealth Financing Authority Board in Harrisburg. The ARPA Pennsylvania Arts & Cultural Recovery Program provides for grants to ensure the stability and recovery of the Commonwealth’s arts and culture sector from the COVID-19 pandemic.
