I’m thrilled that my family and friends had a baby shower for me. I know I am supposed to send thank-you cards, but I don’t know what to write. What should I include in my baby shower thank-you cards?

Once your baby shower is over, there’s one task left to do.

Even if you opened your gifts during the baby shower and had an opportunity to say thanks, it’s still a considerate gesture to follow up with a hand-written baby shower thank-you card.

Everyone who attended your shower or sent a gift should get a thank-you note.

If you are stuck on specific wording, you’re not alone. Most people want to say the right thing so the giver knows that the gift is appreciated.

There is a simple three-sentence formula for baby shower thank-you note wording.

Keep it personal to each baby shower guest, thanking them by name for attending and for the gift.

Mention how you’re expecting to use or enjoy the gift.

Close with a personal note of appreciation.

It’s always good to be as specific as possible. You may keep it brief but make sure you include the essentials.

Try to send your baby shower thank-you notes as soon as possible after you receive the gifts. It’s important to complete the thank-you notes before the baby arrives. You might be too busy to even think about writing notes later.

While you’re writing thank-you notes to guests, don’t forget to write one to the baby shower host, acknowledging the effort they put into planning the event. It’s important they know how much they meant to you.
