The Parkland High School boys and girls basketball teams both won games against Pleasant Valley last Friday night in Eastern Pennsylvania Conference action.
The Trojan boys defeated the Bears 69-43 and the Lady Trojans won 50-11.
It was the third victory in a row for the girls team. The boys have also now won three games in a row and are undefeated this calendar year.
The boys got out in front of Pleasant Valley early, leading after the first quarter 22-14 and 36-28 at halftime. The Trojans outscored the Bears 22-10 in a decisive third quarter to take control of the game and go on to the victory.
Zaire Smaltz led all scorers with 20 points. Nick Coval added 14 points. Blake Borcorman and Jayden Thomas chipped in with nine points and eight points, respectively.
The Trojans girls team also got off to a quick start, taking a 19-4 advantage after the opening quarter and a 26-7 lead at halftime to cruise the rest of the way.
Madi Siggins finished with a game-high 19 points. Sophie Frank contributed nine points and Talia Zurinskas added eight points. Delaney Chilcote netted six points in the win.
The Parkland teams both had their games against Easton, scheduled for this past Tuesday, postponed due to weather. They will both take on Central Catholic on Friday night at home in a girls-boys doubleheader with the Lady Trojans beginning at 5:30 p.m. and the boys to follow.
