Hunter J. Iatalese
Hunter J. Iatalese, 21, of Germansville, died Jan. 14, 2024.
He was the son of the late Amanda Iatalese and grandson of Marie and Richard Leiby, with whom he resided.
A 2021 Northwestern Lehigh High School graduate, he was a member of Heidelberg Union Church, the Heidelberg Game Association and Andreas Sporting Club.
He was so full of life and lived for the moment, he was always with family or on an adventure.
He started racing at his local racetracks when he was 12 in an enduro car and eventually went on to race hobby stocks until he was 17.
He then moved on to Grandview Speedway in 2020 and was more interested in dirt racing.
Building his own car in 2020-21, he won his very first race in 2023 at Grandview Speedway in his Sportsman Car.
He was always on a hunting trip or going to different racetracks.
He started doing drag bikes with his boss, Mark, and traveling around the East Coast.
At the age of 12, he started his first job with Allan Hoffner, a local farmer.
At 15 he started working for S&L Landscaping, owned by Mark Schwalm, which led to him getting his CDL and becoming a tri-axle driver for S&L where he worked until present day.
Over the years, he and Mark grew so close they went snowmobiling in New York together, along with drag racing.
He loved his family, friends, nieces and everyone he met.
His smiles and hugs left everyone breathless.
Survivors include siblings Rachel Altemose and her husband, Carl, and Connor Drakely; maternal grandparents, Richard and Marie Leiby; paternal grandparents Joe and Ruth Uyvari; step-grandmother Carol Nemeth; fiancée, Kylie Bernhard; many aunts and uncles; four nieces; and numerous cousins.
