EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am a senior at Emmaus High School.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My parents are JP and Erica Kleinle and I have two younger brothers, Bryce and Levi Kleinle. I also have a dog named Cody and 10 chickens.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is science because I enjoy learning about the world around me. I have always been interested in nature, so finding ways to involve my interests in my education has been exciting.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. 2021 Track and Field All Area Team, Eastern Pennsylvania Conference Scholar Athlete nominee, Indoor 4x800m Relay school record holder, Track and Field 4x800m Relay EPC League Meet medal winner (two times), Track and Field 1600m run EPC League Meet medal winner, Track and Field 4x800m Relay District XI medal winner, Cross-country District XI Team medal winner, Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association, Inc. Track and Field State Championship Qualifier, PIAA Cross Country State Championship Qualifier, Pennsylvania Track and Field Coaches Association Indoor Track and Field State Championship Qualifier, Excellence in German award and Principal’s Honor Roll (four years).

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has being involved in these organizations impacted your high school experience?

A. During my time at Emmaus, I have been a part of the field hockey team, track and field team, cross-country team, indoor track and field club, National Honor Society and Student Athlete Leadership Team.

Being involved in these organizations has impacted my high school experience by allowing me to make friends and be a leader in my school community. These organizations have provided me with opportunities to be involved and learn lessons of sportsmanship, leadership and the importance of teamwork.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge to date has been deciding what I want to do post graduation. It has been a struggle to find colleges that would work best to set me up for success and a meaningful career.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. My goal after high school is to go to college to continue my academic and athletic career.

Q. Whom do you hope to emulate? Why?

A. I hope to emulate my parents because they have worked very hard for everything they have and provide a great family for my brothers and me. Their unconditional love and support is something I cannot imagine living without as I navigate through life.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I want to be remembered for both my academic and athletic achievements, but not just the achievements, the hard work I put into meeting my goals. I also would like to be remembered for the spirit and leadership that I bring to my teams and my work to make them both united and successful.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. My advice for my peers is to find your community and an outlet to succeed. For me, sports have given me opportunities to make close friendships and a way to stay active and healthy. Get involved and live your life to the fullest!
