LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Northwestern wrestlers compete in Parkland Duals

Northwestern’s Luke Fugazzotto and Noah Schlofer both won all three of their bouts Saturday at the Parkland Duals. The Tigers, however, dropped all three of their matches at the event, which was shortened due to weather concerns.

Fugazzotto (172) earned two wins by fall and another by forfeit Saturday, while Schlofer (215) had two wins by decision and one by fall. Trent Croll (133) went 2-1 at Parkland with two pins. His only loss was a 6-3 decision.

The Tigers opened the tournament with a 46-21 loss to Quakertown, which went 3-0 at event. They followed that with a 54-15 loss to Delaware Valley and a 52-24 setback to West Chester Rustin.

In Colonial League action last week, Northwestern fell to Bangor 48-24.

Croll and Fugazzotto both won matches by fall against the Slaters, while teammates Aris Gabri-El and Braydon Urichio earned wins by forfeit as each team gave up two bouts by forfeit.

After beating Panther Valley and Northern Lehigh to start the season, the Tigers have now lost seven straight matches to drop to 2-7 overall and 1-3 in the Colonial League. They faced Southern Lehigh this week and will compete in Sunday’s individual league tournament at Catasauqua.
