Rick Christ has been named Executive Director of the Lehigh Carbon Community College Foundation, LCCC president Dr. Ann D. Bieber announced. Christ started in his new role on Jan. 2.
Christ comes to the college from the Minsi Trails Council, Boy Scouts of America, Carbon, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe and Northampton counties and Warren County, N.J., where he was executive director for the past five years.
Previously, Christ was executive director of the Baden-Powell Council, Boy Scouts of America, Broome, Chenango, Cortland, Tioga and Tompkins, N.Y., and Susquehanna County.
During 25 years with the Boy Scouts, Christ has experience in fundraising, donor cultivation, operations, endowment management and strategic planning.
At LCCC, Christ is responsible for increasing support for academic and student success programs, working with corporations, private foundations, government agencies and individuals to support short- and long-term goals of the college, focusing primarily on funding to promote student success.
Christ, a graduate of Tamaqua High School, received a bachelor’s degree in recreation and leisure services management with a concentration in outdoor recreation from East Stroudsburg University.
He is an Eagle Scout, was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Club and has been active with community partners such as the Chamber of Commerce, United Way and Rotary.
He and his wife, Ann Marie, have two children, Julia and Blaine. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, camping, bowling, biking and spending time with family.
“Rick Christ brings many years of experience in nonprofit management and fund-raising, which will make a positive impact on the LCCC Foundation and its work to benefit our students,” said Dr. Bieber.
“He will be key in garnering support that will help ensure students have the resources to attend, that programs can grow in innovative ways and that there are ample opportunities for growth in priority areas,” Dr. Bieber said.
