Egypt/Cementon: Concerts planned for Jan. 19

Egypt Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7293, 5209 Springmill Road, will be hosting concerts featuring Dirty Roxx Jan. 19, Reconnect Band Jan. 27, Alter Ego Feb. 2 and Stage Devils Feb. 10. All concerts begin 7 p.m.

Members attend for free, but there is a cost for guests and nonmembers.

Upcoming concerts at Laurel Fire Company Social Hall, 5114 Third St., Cementon, will include Kate and Those Guys Band Jan. 19, Castaway Band Jan. 27 and MP3 Band Feb. 2. All concerts start 7 p.m.

These events are open to the public. There is a cover charge.

Msgr. Dan Yenushosky, of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 4456 Main St., Egypt, is participating in the Cooks with Collars online cooking competition to raise funds for Diocese of Allentown parishes and Catholic Charities.

Visit cookswithcollars.com to watch Yenushosky and other local priests whip up culinary delights. Donate and vote for your favorite chef.

Each vote for Yenushosky earns a raffle ticket to win six dozen homemade kiffles.

The last day to vote is Feb. 12. Winners will be announced Feb. 13.

Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative’s free community meal, originally scheduled for Jan. 16 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Egypt, was canceled due to inclement weather.

The next community meal at the church, 4331 Main St., will take place May 21.

The youth group of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church will be holding a hoagie sale fundraiser Jan. 21-Feb. 4.

Hoagies will be delivered Feb. 11, just in time for the Super Bowl.
