MIDDLE SCHOOLS ONLY 3 HOUR DELAY: BASD schools (Broughal, East Hills, Nitschmann and Northeast) will have a three-hour delayed opening Jan. 24.
STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: Samara Ramos is in 4th grade at Marvine ES. Samara always has a positive attitude and her love for learning is impressive. She helps other students when they need help, sometimes without them needing to ask. Samara is patient and kind with all of her peers and teachers.
STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Andrew Kramer is a Special Education Teacher at Freedom HS. Mr. Kramer is the Special Education math tutoring lead. He is simply stellar and essential in supporting Freedom HS.
ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: Heddie Garcia graduated from Liberty HS in 2003. Heddie is currently a School Counselor at Fountain Hill ES.
DENTAL CLINIC FOR YOUTH: Northampton County Community College and the Litwak Dental Cinic will offer free screenings, X-rays, cleanings, sealants, fluoride treatments and education for children ages 3 to 17 March 23. To make an appointment please call 610-861-5442.
STEAM CHARTER PUBLIC COMMENT: The BASD Board will again give the public time to comment on the application for a STEAM Charter school at its Jan. 22 meeting. The meeting will be held at East Hills MS at 7 p.m. Snow date Jan. 24.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION HAS MOVED: On the first and third Saturday of each month, from 2 p.m. to 4p.m., there will be a food distribution at 1016 Wood St. The will no longer be a food distribution at Northeast MS.
FREEDOM ES NHS BLOOD DRIVE: The blood drive will be held in the aerobics room on Feb. 8 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring your student ID or driver’s license to tour appointment.
