Gloc gets fourth place at tournament

Jakub Gloc led the Falcons at the Neil Turner Memorial Holiday Classic at Conestoga Valley High School.

Gloc was the only Salisbury wrestler to place in the event as he took fourth place at 215 to help his team to a 29th-place finish.

Gloc pinned his first two opponents before falling in the quarterfinal round to Slate Sechrist (Jersey Shore) by a 6-1 decision.

Gloc won two close consolation bouts, beating Brody Rebuck (Shikellamy) 9-8 before defeating Brody Spindler (Pittston) 5-3 in the consolation semifinals.

Glo met Sechrist again in the third-place bout and fell 4-2.

Salisbury teammate Sam Krauss came within one win of placing at the tournament. Krauss pinned his first opponent then lost his second bout before wrestling back with two wins to get to the fourth round of consolations.

Central Dauphin won the title at the 35-team event.

The Falcons 5-0 overall and 3-0 in Colonial League matches this season. They return to league matches this week when they travel to Pen Argyl (2-2; 0-1) Wednesday to take on the Green Knights.
