Bethlehem Catholic may not have gotten a chance to wrestle their much anticipated showdown with Notre Dame Green Pond last weekend because of the recent snowstorm, but the Hawks will have an eventful week ahead of them.
It all starts on Wednesday with a showdown against Easton (10-0) in arguably the biggest showdown in the East Penn Conference this season already.
The Rovers have knocked off the likes of Nazareth and Parkland in convincing fashion already this season and will pose as the toughest test for Becahi (3-0) so far.
“This will be a fun dual,” said head coach Mike Cole about Easton. “They match up well with us. The team that gains momentum will win.”
Once the Easton match is out of the way, the focus shifts to this weekend’s Escape the Rock tournament at Council Rock South, where the Hawks will compete with over 60 schools in the individual tournament.
It’s another barometer test for the Hawks gearing up for the postseason and the last individual tournament on the schedule before districts.
“Our goals for team are continue to recover position with a sense of urgency and more movement and escapes from bottom. No one riding us,” said Cole. “Also, work on our practice mindset. Nervousness is an evil thing. We have been practicing positive mindset to push negative thoughts out.”
Freedom (5-4) has dual meet with Allen this week before heading to Central Dauphin on Saturday to take part in their dual meet tournament. The six-team event features the hosts, Manheim Township, Northern York and Pittston.
